In June 2011 Carbon Reduction Technology undertook a project to supply interior and external lighting to the M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology in Bangalore. Over the course of the installation, over eight thousand internal LED lighting units were fitted in all classrooms and corridors across the facility plus a range of external LED street lights around the Institute.
As a tribute the Indian nationality of the Institute, the facade of the building was fitted with layered coloured lights in orange, white and green to represent the Indian flag. Each separate colour effect was created by using two hundred and twenty coloured bulbs.
The use of Carbon Reduction Technology's e-lamp LED technology has enabled the Institute to make a power saving of 70% on external street lighting and 66% on internal lighting. Since the commencement of the installation the Institute has had zero failure on all newly fitted lights and have expressed the intention to extend the use of Carbon Reduction Technology lighting throughout all MSR Institutions. The project is due to be completed in October, 2012.
