Carbon Reduction Technology has been working closely with KLES Society of Institutions to supply a lighting upgrade to the KLES Hospital and Research Centre in Belgaum.
The internal lighting upgrade itself took place in conjunction with a full refurbishment of the facility into a state of the art private hospital, including two hundred and fifty interior LED units on ward corridors. While the interior lighting project was completed in July 2012, a further exterior lighting project is on-going.
Carbon Reduction Technology has supplied a retrofit LED unit to be installed into the street lights around the hospital grounds. The new eco street lighting is being introduced as part of a monthly conversion plan, with ninety out of three hundred and forty fitted at the time of publication. The new lights are set to provide an energy and carbon saving of 65%.
This could be the first ‘green building’ upgrade for many KLES Institutions. KLES are currently considering making the conversion from traditional lamps to LED technology in all of their facilities across the country and have expressed interest in continuing to work with Carbon Reduction Technology in order to accomplish this.
